About Downtown Spark

Our Mission

Downtown Spark is a reverse RFP process where communities submit to have the DTRedevelopment Team partner with their community for rehabilitating a catalyst property in their community. Through this process the DTRedevelopment team will serve as advisors, property owners, developers, and project managers; ensuring that the project gets built and meets the greater community need. 

The Process

We will partner with teh oganization to identify targeted properties and prepare a streamlined market analysis to determine highest and best uses for activated parcels. THrough this process we will undertake the following steps:


- Property identification

- Property acquisition and conceptual programming

- Grant funding development and acquisition

- Community engagement and feedback

- Schematic design and development documents-

- External funding commitment/s

- Permits and approvals

- Design/build acquisition 

- Construction Management

- Interior retrofit and tenant improvements

- Occupancy inspection

- Ribbon cutting


What we need from the Main Street program

In this process we are looking for a partner, someone who can help identify local catalyst projects and properties; and someone who can helo our team navigate the localized political/permitting climate. From there, the team at DTRedevelopment will manage the efforts and keep the main street team as advisors throughout. 

The End Product

The end product is a rehabilitated and revitalized downtown property. This process should serve as a training opportunity and example for how to make catalyst changes within the downtown.
